Empowerment Series 2025

Program Details

The Lauderhill Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is proud to continue its mission of uplifting and inspiring the youth of Lauderhill through the 2025 Empowerment Series. This impactful program is designed to nurture social-emotional learning, reinforce character development, and equip students with the tools they need to become confident, responsible members of their communities.

This year, the CRA is partnering once again with Royal Palm STEM Museum Magnet Elementary. Over two dedicated weeks in April and May, students will engage in powerful and thought-provoking sessions led by two outstanding speakers: Mr. Dwayne Hardge and Mrs. Vernetta Vernon-Thompson.

Mr. Hardge brings an unmatched energy to the classroom, using his signature “edutainment” style to teach real-life lessons with humor, passion, and purpose. Mrs. Vernon-Thompson complements that energy with a deeply empathetic and inspiring presence, encouraging students to embrace their potential, own their choices, and rise to their highest selves. Together, they create a dynamic duo that resonates with students on every level.

Throughout the series, students will explore critical themes like emotional intelligence, self-discipline, teamwork, leadership, and respect. Each session is carefully designed to foster discussion, promote self-awareness, and build a foundation for long-term success—not just academically, but personally and socially.

By the end of the program, students will have developed stronger communication skills, greater empathy, and a clearer vision of who they are and what they’re capable of becoming. The Empowerment Series isn’t just a series of lessons—it’s a movement toward a brighter, more empowered future for the youth of Lauderhill.
