The General Carpentry Training Program at OIC of South Florida is a hands-on path to a stable and rewarding career in the trades. In just 20 weeks, students gain real-world experience in measuring, cutting, and assembling materials, using hand and power tools, framing, finishing, and maintaining job site safety. This program combines classroom learning with practical training to prepare participants for immediate opportunities in carpentry and construction.
Graduates earn nationally recognized credentials, including NCCER Core Construction, NCCER General Carpentry, OSHA 10 Construction, and Forklift Safety and MOT Flagger certifications. Students also receive career coaching and job placement support to help them transition smoothly into the workforce. Open to individuals 18 and older with a high school diploma or GED (or those who complete a qualification exam with OIC), classes begin November 3, Monday through Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at The Robert P.
